The Further Continuing Appropriations and Other Extensions Act, 2024 (Pub. L. 118-22) extended provisions of the 2018 Farm Bill and authorizes CRP enrollment below the statutory 27-million-acre limitation through September 30, 2024.
On March 2, 2024, USDA announced general CRP signup 62 will be held from March 4, 2024, through March 29, 2024. Land not currently enrolled in CRP may be offered for enrollment during general CRP signup 62. In addition, CRP participants with a contract scheduled to expire on September 30, 2024, may submit an offer for land enrolled under contract and, if accepted, will have a contract beginning on October 1, 2024.
For general CRP signup 62, FSA will use the Environmental Benefits Index (EBI) to rank otherwise eligible offers for selection. The Tool for Environmental Resource Results Assessment (TERRA) and the Conservation Online System (COLS) must be used for all general CRP signup 62 offers. These tools will use updated databases for applicable soils, Conservation Priority Areas, wildlife, and water and air quality zones.
